North Dakota Bill Seeks Advanced License and More Services

North Dakota esties, there’s a bill that will add popular treatments to your service menu! In a competitive market, you know how vital it is to diversify and set yourself apart. House Bill 1126 (HB 1126) will help you do just that. The bill would create an advanced esthetics license and broaden the scope of practice for estheticians.

Advanced Esthetics License
If HB 1126 is signed into law, advanced estheticians would be allowed to provide in-demand services, such as advanced medical peels and microneedling, and use nonablative devices. Proof of approved additional training and certification would have to be submitted to the North Dakota State Board of Cosmetology before practicing such services on the public.

Esthetics Scope of Practice
The bill redefines “esthetics,” offering clarity to what “skin care” means. If HB 1126 is enacted, this will broaden the scope of esthetics and permit licensed estheticians to provide microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, high frequency, and cosmetic peels (with appropriate acid concentrations).

Advocate and Elevate
We think HB 1126 would validate professional skills and expertise and lead to better, more profitable job opportunities.
