This condition appears in the ASCP SkinPro app

What is Pycnogenol?

A powerful antioxidant extracted from the bark of the French maritime Pine tree.

What Should I Know About Pycnogenol?

  • Shown to increase hydration and elasticity when taken as an oral supplement.
  • As a skin care ingredient, pycnogenol is used for treating aging and sun-damaged skin.

It is used as both an oral supplement and skin care ingredient. As a supplement, it has been documented to improve hydration and elasticity in the skin of menopausal women. As a skin care ingredient, it appears to have similar effects. This is likely due to its potent antioxidant properties. It is also believed to be a collagen stimulant.

Treatment Considerations for Pycnogenol

  • Products containing pycnogenol may be helpful for treating signs of aging such as wrinkles and elasticity, skin symptoms in menopausal women, and sensitive skin.
