Minnesota Shortens Lash Extension Hours

An in-demand service that boosts consumer confidence with longer, fuller, and curlier lashes may have just become more accessible for those wishing to join the booming lash extension community. The Minnesota Board of Cosmetology Examiners published final rules in the Minnesota State Register (page 77) that affect eyelash technician training hours.

The rules decrease training hours from 38 to 14. Fewer hours may reduce barriers to entry into this popular career path.

Eyelash technician graduates from a Minnesota-licensed cosmetology school must submit their original course completion certificate, with notarized signatures of the school manager or owner, to document curriculum completion of the required training hours.
