Mississippi Shaves Dermaplaning Regulations

Are you looking to attract new clientele? How about increasing your income? A great way to do so is by adding something new to your service menu, and the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology (Board) recently issued a new rule so you can do that! The new rule expands the scope of practice for all licensees.

Any license holder regulated by the Board (those who perform hair care, esthetics and skin care, nail care, and hair removal) can now perform dermaplaning with a guarded razor. Licensees were previously prohibited from practicing dermaplaning.

Effective date: September 1, 2023
