UPDATE: The proposed rule below was made final February 1, 2022. Late fees will return to pre-pandemic amounts effective March 1, 2022. If you have questions, contact Anne Thompson at anne.p.thompson@dhsoha.state.or.us.
The Oregon Health Licensing Office (the Office) filed a proposed rule December 27, 2021, that aims to repeal an emergency COVID-19 rule that discounted late renewal fees for those holding a license, certificate, permit, or registration.
As Oregon moves toward recovery from the pandemic, the Office intends to repeal OAR 331-010-0015 effective March 1, 2022. OAR 331-010-0015 reduced the late renewal or delinquency fee to $1—after its repeal, late fees will return to $50 for those licensed under the Board of Cosmetology and $30 for those licensed under the Board of Certified Advanced Estheticians.
The Office would like to hear from you and whether other options should be considered. If you would like a public rulemaking hearing to discuss alternative options and/or to share your opinion, contact Anne Thompson at: anne.p.thompson@dhsoha.state.or.us.
