Lash Lamination Step-by-Step Protocol

Step 1

Cleanse the eye area using Elleebana Makeup Remover on a cotton round or pad. With the client’s eyes closed, gently but thoroughly cleanse the lashes, eyelids, under the eyes, and entire brow area. If necessary, double cleanse. Lightly rinse the eye and lash areas with warm water, then dry thoroughly with a tissue.

Step 2

Protect the lower lashes by taping down the bottom lashes with protective under-eye pads, micropore tape, or sensitive tape. This also ensures the lower lashes are not accidentally attached to the upper lashes and lifted in the same upward direction.

Step 3

Attaching your silicone rod, shield, or hybrid shield to your client’s eyelid may require applying a thin coating of lash lifting adhesive to the back strip of the silicone rod/shield. Using Flex Shields or Flex Rods is the best option because you don’t need to use adhesive on the back. Place the rod or shield on the edge of the lid as close as possible to the root of the lashes. Ensure the outer corners are not drooping and that no lashes are caught underneath the rod.

Step 4 

To adhere the lashes into place on the silicone rods, apply a thin line of lash-lifting adhesive along the front of the rod or shield. Wait a few seconds to allow the adhesive to become tacky. At this point, you can work in sections if you’re not comfortable applying adhesive to the entire silicone rod.

Step 5 

Use the Elleebana Precision Lifter Tool to scoop a small quantity of lashes in the hooked section of the lifter tool and slowly but firmly lift, roll, and wrap the lashes from the base up and around the silicone rod. Before releasing your lifted section, momentarily hold the lashes in place. If you raise the lashes up and over the rod or shield before the adhesive is tacky, you will wipe off or scrape away the adhesive and the lashes won’t hold in place.

Step 6 

Open Step 1 Lamination Lotion of the Elleeplex Lash Lamination System and dispense into a tray, bowl, glue ring, or mixing dish. The lotions required during the lash lamination treatment are a thick consistency to minimize the possibility of the products running into the eyes. Use an application brush to paint Step 1 Lamination Lotion from the base of the lashes to ¾ of the way up the lash. For a more dramatic lift, coat most of the lash.

Step 7 

After the lotion has processed, dry wipe it off using a cotton swab or micro brush, being careful not to disrupt the location of the lashes along the silicone rod. Re-lift any disturbed lashes by using additional adhesive. Do not cross-contaminate the adhesive by touching the brush from your adhesive to the client’s lashes.

Step 8 

In a mixing bowl, combine Elleeplex Step 2 Setting Lotion with Elleeplex Re-GEN Next Gen in an 8-to-1 ratio. Apply the mixture to the lashes with a clean application brush, allowing the Re-GEN Next Gen to provide nourishing and hydrating properties to the lash. This is the true benefit of combining the Re-GEN Next Gen with Step 2 Setting Lotion—the lashes will be nourished and you save time.

Step 9

After the processing time is complete, remove the under-eye pads. Gently tilt the client’s head and rest a kidney dish half filled with warm (not hot) water next to the first eye. Dip a 4x4 wipe or cotton round in the water; press gently on the rod to soak it and remove it from the eyelid in a downward motion. Continue rinsing the eye to ensure thorough removal of the lotions. Repeat on the second eye. Wipe a tissue around the eye area to dry the lashes. Comb the lashes with a clean mascara wand to separate and assess the lift.
