Vacancy on the Wyoming Board of Cosmetology

Your voice, experience, and industry knowledge are invaluable assets to your practice, and they may be complementary contributions to the Wyoming Board of Cosmetology (Board). Governor Mark Gordon and the Board are seeking one individual to fill a vacancy on the Board. The term would begin immediately and continue through January 2027.

Being a board member is an excellent opportunity to combine the cosmetology community’s collective viewpoints, visions, and hopes for Wyoming. We encourage you to apply—serving on a board is a way to become more engaged in your profession and learn about state government.

Am I Qualified?
Board members must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Wyoming-licensed esthetician, cosmetologist, hairstylist, or nail technician
  • Have at least five years of working industry experience

Note: Board members cannot be affiliated with or hold interest in a cosmetology school while serving on the Board.

About the Board
The Board’s primary mission is to protect public health, safety, and welfare. The Board administers exams, establishes licensing qualifications, develops infection control rules, determines program standards and curriculum, and conducts investigations.
