Zombie cells, or senescent cells, are aging cells that have lost their ability to divide but don’t die off as they should. These cells can accumulate in the skin due to various stressors, like UV radiation and pollution, leading to a decline in skin elasticity, increased wrinkles, and a dull complexion. They can also secrete inflammatory factors that disrupt the skin’s overall health, contributing to aging and conditions like psoriasis or eczema. About Dr. Linder:
Jennifer Linder, M.D., F.A.A.D.
Founder, Linder Health
Jennifer Linder, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained skin cancer surgeon using the Mohs micrographic technique with a medical license in Hawaii, California, Wyoming and Arizona. Prior to founding Linder Health, Dr. Linder founded and served as Chief Scientific Officer for PCA SKIN, guiding all product development and clinical trials for the company. She is a published author and renowned speaker on dermatology, aesthetics, and cosmetic procedures. The formally-trained biomedical engineer and chemist graduated from the Washington University Medical School. She completed a surgical internship at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a three-year dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She formerly held Medical Advisor and Trainer roles for multiple fillers and injectables, and a clinical faculty position in the Department of Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco, instructing other dermatologists in skin cancer surgery and the use of cosmetic injectables. Maggie has been a licensed esthetician since 2006 and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stephens College.
